PRADA – NY Fashion Week Spring 2014

Hair by Guido Palau, REDKEN Creative Consultant
Redken Creative Consultant Guido used guts 10 root targeted volume spray foam to create a light texture to the hair this season. Guido kept the hair low-key and simple, making the Prada girl appear unintentionally stylish and cool. Unlike many shows this season, Guido did not add movement back into the hair. Instead, Guido created a low-cut across the forehead to simulate a more youthful look. In order to further unify the girls, each models' hair was colored to create a flat, monotone color scheme. While there are still variations in color, from blonde to red to brown to black, the colors themselves are muted. Guido didn't want multidimensional haircolor on the runway, in that he wanted an element of artificiality."

Guido Palau:
"The hair is true Prada hair, in that the style is a bit school girlish, yet the overall look is quite strong. There is nothing extreme about the color, cut, length or style. Moreover, the Prada girl is by no means sweet and innocent. I suppose there is almost a gang-like mentality to this look. These girls project an exclusive consortium, in that they are all effortlessly chic."
